SAFEGUARDING POLICY
1. Our Commitment
We are committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all choir members. While we welcome people of all backgrounds and abilities, our sessions and events are not staffed or equipped to provide personal care or supervision.
2. Who This Applies To
This policy applies to all members, volunteers, and participants who attend rehearsals, performances, or any choir-related activities.
3. Expectations of Members
• Members must be able to attend and leave events safely and independently.
• The choir does not provide transport or one-to-one support.
• If a member requires assistance (e.g., due to age, disability, or health concerns), they are welcome to attend with a carer, family member, or friend, who remains responsible for their support throughout.
• Members are responsible for managing their own wellbeing during choir activities.
4. Reporting Concerns
If you are concerned that a member may be vulnerable or at risk, please speak confidentially with the choir leader. We may contact a family member (if known) or, where necessary, refer the concern to local adult safeguarding services in line with our duty to protect.
5. Risk Management
We reserve the right to:
• Recommend that a member attend with support if we believe their safety may be at risk.
• Limit participation in specific events if we cannot ensure a safe environment for that individual or the group.
6. Review
This policy will be reviewed annually or sooner if concerns arise. It is designed to support a safe and positive experience for all.
